Leicester   2 - 1   Swansea

Dany N'Guessan celebrates his late winner with fellow goal scorer Andy King
N'Guessan also came off the bench to defeat Swansea in August

A close-range 89th-minute header from substitute Dany N'Guessan put Leicester through to the FA Cup fourth round.

David Cotterill gave Swansea an early lead with a wonderful strike from 30 yards - his first goal for the club.

The Swans dominated until Matt Fryatt set up Wales international Andy King for a goal from just outside the box that left Dorus De Vries flat-footed.

The Foxes took control and Yann Kermorgant headed a Ryan McGivern free-kick to N'Guessan who made no mistake.

It was a feeling of deja vu for the Swans who lost by the same score on their last visit to the Walkers Stadium in the opening game of the season, N'Guessan also coming off the bench in that match to score the winner.

Leicester, into the fourth round for the first time in four years, have now won their last four games against the Swans and are unbeaten in eight matches against the Welsh club.

Swansea have not defeated the Foxes since a 6-1 triumph at the Vetch Field in March 1956 in the old Second Division.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson:
"I always emphasise it is a squad game and I thought the substitutes did very well for us when they came on.

"Paul Gallagher was excellent when he went on and of course our French connection did very well when they went on.

"It's nice to have players like that to put on when you want to do something different.

"It was a tough game. We were better in the second half after we had got to grips with their system.

"They are a decent side and we had to change somewhat to win the game.

"We had to press them higher in the pitch to affect the quality of their passing."

Swansea manager Paulo Sousa:
"It was the best 11 we could have put out. Those we left out all had the flu.

"It was a balanced game between two good teams who play different types of football.

"It was a great strike from David Cotterill. We work hard to score goals from outside the box and it is something we need to do more often.

"They created problems for us at the set piece. We defended well but these things can happen in the course of a game, they are very strong in that area.

"I'm down because I'm out of the cup. It's a prestigious competition and brings money into the club."
