Grays A-A Carlisle

Grays' FA Cup first-round replay against Carlisle was abandoned after only 20 minutes because of floodlight failure at the Recreation Ground.

The non-league side were celebrating Sam Sloma's 20th-minute goal when one of the floodlights failed.

An electrician spent 20 minutes trying to fix the problem before the referee called a halt to proceedings.

A new date is yet to be fixed for the game, the winner of which will host Crewe in the second round.


Grays Athletic: Button, Gier, Dayes, Stuart, Wilnis, Welsh, Cogan, Thurgood, Sloma, McCollin, Ashton.

Subs Not Used: Arnold, Elliott, Taylor, Bailey, Hickie, Davis.

Goals: Sloma 19.

Carlisle: Williams, Raven, Livesey, Keogh, Horwood, Taylor, Welsh, Kavanagh, Bridge-Wilkinson, Hackney, Graham.

Subs Not Used: Howarth, Lumsdon, Joyce, Grant Smith, Gowling, Bridges, Madine.
