Havant & W'ville 1-3 Brentford

Brentford celebrate the opening goal by Marvin Williams (centre)
Williams (centre) opened the scoring for Brentford before the break

League Two side Brentford survived a couple of hairy moments to see off Blue Square Premier South team Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Cup.

Marvin Williams put them ahead after Kevin Scriven could only parry Nathan Elder's shot and Charlie MacDonald hooked in the second from a corner.

Ian Simpemba headed Havant back into it from Brett Poate's free-kick.

Ben Hamer made two brilliant saves to keep out the hosts before Nathan Elder converted MacDonald's cross to seal it.

The Bees will visit Eastbourne Borough or Barrow in round two.
