Accrington 0-0 Tranmere

Goalkeeper Kenny Arthur was Accrington Stanley's hero, turning in an inspired display in this FA Cup first round tie.

Arthur was at his best in the first half as he denied Bas Savage, Ian Moore, Antony Kay (twice) and Gareth Edds with a string of superb saves.

Jimmy Ryan and John Miles went close for Stanley, who have not won an FA Cup tie for almost five years.

But the chances dried up after the break and the teams will meet again at Prenton Park on Tuesday, 18 November.
