Brackley Town made history by reaching the first round proper of the FA Cup after beating Hampton & Richmond 1-0 at the Beveree Stadium on Saturday.
The BGB Southern Premier Division side have never reached the first round before, but manager Phil Lines told BBC Oxford that the result was deserved.
"We deserved to win this game and we were really good today," he said.
"It is easy to come out with cliches about how the lads were magnificent but they put in one hell of a performance."
The only goal of the game was scored by Brackley-born Josh Green, who said he was overwhelmed to net the winner.
"It is unbelievable, it was a set-piece and my manager has been moaning about me not getting on the end of them - I have saved it for the big occasion," he admitted.
