Hamshaw celebrates after scoring the opening goal at Withdean
|
League Two strugglers Mansfield caused an FA Cup shock by beating League One outfit Brighton at Withdean.
The Stags, who are 91st in the Football League, went ahead when Matthew Hamshaw took advantage of some slack defending to fire a low shot past Michel Kuipers.
Ian Holmes shot wide for the visitors before Alex Revell levelled when he headed in Dean Cox's free-kick.
But Holmes had the last laugh when he met John Mullins' fine right-wing cross just before the half-time interval.

Simon Brown nearly added a third for the Stags late on, but was denied by a good save from Kuipers.
The result was all the more surprising as Mansfield had been without an away league victory all season - and had lost their last five games on the road.
