Chasetown to host Cardiff Cup tie
Chasetown
The Scholars Ground was the scene of wild celebrations after the win over Port Vale
Chasetown have been granted permission to stage their third-round FA Cup tie with Cardiff City at their home ground.

The match will go ahead on Saturday, 5 January with a 1300 GMT kick-off.

There had been concerns over the safety of Scholars Park and Staffordshire police were keen to switch the game to a bigger stadium.

But the BGB Southern League Midland Division side can now begin planning to stage the match, which will see the ground's capacity boosted to 2,000.

That will involve erecting temporary seating behind each goal, as was the case for their second-round replay win over Port Vale.
