A brace from Horsham's Lee Farrell gave Swansea a huge scare
|
Swansea ended non-League Horsham's FA Cup dream but had to come from behind twice to do so in a thrilling tie.
Lee Farrell gave the part-timers a deserved lead on 20 minutes lobbing keeper Dorus de Vries, before Darren Pratley levelled within a minute.
Farrell then capitalised from a dreadful error from de Vries to put the Ryman League side 2-1 up.
But Leon Britton, Jason Scotland, Ferrie Bodde, Andy Robinson and Warren Feeney made sure of Swansea's win.
Horsham were unlucky not to have had a penalty after just eight seconds when Lee Carney was fouled on the edge of the box by Kevin Austin.
Credit it to the visitors, they continued to push the Swans before twice taking the lead.
But when the League One side got themselves back to 2-2, they turned up the tempo with Scotland and Bodde scoring twice in quick succession before the break.
Robinson's early second half goal was enough to kill the game off and it was one-way traffic from then on.
Swansea now face Blue Square South outfit Havant & Waterlooville in the third round next month.
