GOALFLASHES AND MAJOR INCIDENTS (all times GMT)

By Charlie Henderson

1700: Next up is Liverpool against Arsenal at 1915 GMT - which is also on BBC One and Radio Five Live - and then you can catch all the goals and shots of Forest and Swansea players pouring champagne over each other in Match of the Day at 1100 GMT on BBC One.

1658: FULL-TIME Birmingham 2-2 Newcastle
A breathless afternoon of typically thrilling FA Cup third round football draws to a close for the time being as the Blues and the Magpies share a draw, the fourth in their last four meetings.

1653: GOAL Leicester 2-2 Fulham
And a late equaliser for another Championship club as Danny Cadamarteri scores for the Foxes to the delight of the majority of those at the Walkers Stadium.

1652: FULL-TIME Sheffield United 0-3 Swansea
And that is the second, and bigger, surprise. The large travelling contingent goes wild at Bramall Lane

1652: FULL-TIME Nottingham Forest 2-0 Charlton
There's the whistle at shock number one of the day and Alan Pardew will not be going all the way to the FA Cup final again.

1650: GOAL West Ham 3-0 Brighton
Shaun Newton finds Hayden Mullins with a cross which is glanced into the bottom corner.

1650: GOAL Birmingham 2-2 Newcastle
The Blues, a man down remember, draw level as Sebastian Larsson hooks in a cross from Damien Johnson.

1649: GOAL Portsmouth 2-1 Wigan
Surely a late winner for Pompey as Kanu heads in a cross from Glen Johnson late in stoppage time.

1647: GOAL Chelsea 6-1 Macclesfield
David Morley saves Shaun Wright-Phillips' effort but it falls for Ricardo Carvalho who lashes the ball in to make it six.

1646: GOAL Blackpool 4-2 Aldershot
Mark Pritchard gets a consolation goal for Shots.

1644: GOAL Leicester 1-2 Fulham
Brian McBride lays the ball off to Moritz Volz who lets fly to restore Fulham's advantage.

1643: GOAL Bristol City 3-3 Coventry
We should not have jumped on the bandwagon. League One City are pegged back by Championship City with a goal from substitute Stern John - although home keeper Adriano Basso should have done better with it.

1642: GOAL Chelsea 5-1 Macclesfield
Jon Obi Mikel scores his first goal for Chelsea. Wayne Bridge's cross is headed clear but the Nigerian hammers a superb volley back past stand-in keeper David Morley.

1641: GOAL Portsmouth 1-1 Wigan
Will it end in a draw that neither manager would want? Lee McCulloch equalises for Wigan with a well-struck shot 12 yards from goal after a cross from the right by Gary Teale.

1640: GOAL Watford 4-1 Stockport
After going a goal down Watford are going through in style. New boy Moses Ashikodi scores but is gifted to him after an air-shot of a clearance from County keeper Jamie Spencer.

1640: GOAL Leicester 1-1 Fulham
Patrick Kisnorbo draws Leicester level at home to Fulham with a header to squeezes in in the top corner after Jan Latsuvka can only get a hand to it.

1639: GOAL Blackpool 4-1 Aldershot
Ben Burgess slots from the spot for Blackpool.

1639: GOAL Hull 1-1 Middlesbrough
Tigers boss Phil Brown is all smiles as Nicky Forster glances in a header from a fizzing free-kick at the KC Stadium. That is Hull's first goal against Boro in six games.

1638: Macclesfield's day in the sun ends with nine men as goalscorer John Murphy goes off injured with the visitors having used all three substitutes.

1637: That save means Nottingham Forest remain firmly in the driving seat against the Premiership strugglers. They will be taking the plaudits as giant-killers along with Swansea (definitely) and Bristol City (maybe).

1636: Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Paul Smith makes a wonderful, low, left-handed save on the line from Charlton striker Marcus Bent.

1634: GOAL Watford 3-1 Stockport
Malky Mackay gets his second of the day to secure Watford's progress into the next round.

1633: GOAL Hull 0-1 Middlesbrough
The ball breaks for Mark Viduka on the edge of the area and the Australian hits the spot with the precision of countryman Glenn McGrath.

1631: GOAL Blackpool 3-1 Aldershot
Andy Morrell crashes a shot in off the crossbar and it looks unlikely there will be a non-league name in the hat in Monday's draw.

1629: GOAL Leicester 0-1 Fulham
New skipper Michael Brown splits the Leicester defence with a delightful pass and Brian McBride takes his time before picking his spot to score.

1628: GOAL Chelsea 4-1 Macclesfield
Frank Lampard goes from scorer to provider, swinging in a dangerous cross from the left and Shaun Wright-Phillips nips in to notch from close range.

1625: And that goal from Leon Britton maintains his record of scoring in each round of the Cup so far.

1624: GOAL Sheffield United 0-3 Swansea
Leon Britton scores from the penalty spot to surely send Swansea into the hat for the fourth round. The last time the Swans beat the Blades in the Cup - 1964 if you're interested - they went all the way to the last four. A good omen for the Welsh side?

1621: GOAL Portsmouth 1-0 Wigan
Andrew Cole latches on to a cross from the left and blasts a vicious left-footed shot beyond Mike Pollitt in the all-Premiership match.

1619: GOAL Sheffield United 0-2 Swansea
Swansea look set to hit the headlines and the pictures will be of Thomas Butler who cracks in a second through the legs of Blades keeper Paul Gerrard after the ball breaks for him in an identical position on the left of the box.

1616: GOAL Birmingham 1-2 Newcastle
Newcastle are bossing the match and Kieron Dyer races on to an Obafemi Martins throughball, with a little bit of help from some hapless defending from Matthew Upson, and slots home.

1615: GOAL West Ham 2-0 Brighton
Defender Guy Butters may have still been thinking about ladies and pom-poms as the Brighton defence goes walkabout. Luis Boa Morte whips a cross in and Carlton Cole volleys in.

1613: GOAL Sheffield United 0-1 Swansea
Thomas Butler fires home from close range to give the Welsh outfit the lead against Premiership Sheffield United.

1611: GOAL Chelsea 3-1 Macclesfield
After a lengthy break at Stamford Bridge, David Morley goes in the Macclesfield goal but he cannot deny Frank Lampard a hat-trick which he completes with a fierce spot-kick. Defender Morley goes the right way, but his first touch is to pick the ball out of the net.

1609: GOAL West Ham 1-0 Brighton
Mark Noble notches the opener for West Ham - his first senior goal for the club. Carlos Tevez nods George McCartney's looped cross into the midfielder's pass and he fires low into the corner.

1607: Birmingham and Newcastle are late to get going on a mud patch of a pitch at St Andrews. The good news for fans of free-flowing football in the second city is that it is being dug up after this match.

1606: RED CARD Macclesfield
Maccs keeper Tommy Lee was struggling with an injury in the first-half and almost went off and now he is hobbling off, but only after up-ending Andriy Shevchenko in the box. The visitors do not have a spare stopper on the bench.

1605: GOAL Watford 2-1 Stockport
Watford get the perfect start to the second half and it is a real kick in the teeth for hard-working Stockport. A deflected Tommy Smith shot dribbles over the line.

1603: The action resumes up and down the land.

1601: Brighton defender Guy Butters clearly mouths "Oh lovely" as he runs back on past the scantily clad Hammerette dancing girls at Upton Park.

1556: Coventry took the lead at City before the hosts answered with goals from Steve Brooker, Enoch Showunmi and Phil Jevons to go in 3-2 up at the break. There are only 12 places between the clubs on the league ladder, but when there's a surprise on the cards...

1555: The powers that be decree that Doncaster v Bolton is done and dusted and they have been voted out of this clockwatch and it is a warm welcome to Bristol City v Coventry.

1546: The first half-time whistle goes at Upton Park and in our selected matches things still look pretty up in the air, at all but Doncaster where Bolton are in cruise control.

1544: RED CARD Birmingham
Radhi Jaidi rugby tackles Obafemi Martins on the edge of the area and what a turnaround. Referee Mike Dean had no other option as the Nigerian burned up the turf and raced past his rival.

1542: GOAL Birmingham 1-1 Newcastle
Steven Taylor ghosts into the box at the near post to volley home James Milner's corner.

1541: GOAL Chelsea 2-1 Macclesfield
The dream didn't last long. Frank Lampard restores Chelsea's lead capping a surging run with a crisp right-footed shot.

1539: GOAL Chelsea 1-1 Macclesfield
A mistake from Ricardo Carvalho who slips on the turf looking to clear and John Murphy is on hand to fire in through Hilario's legs.

1535: Macclesfield manage their first shot on goal - and it's not a bad effort. Martyn Bullock drives at the Chelsea defence but his low shot from just outside the area skims wide.

1534: A muted home crowd at Upton Park is taunted with a chorus of 'Are you ever going to sing?' by the Brighton fans. Suffice to say the Hammers supporters have not been inspired by what has been a fairly even game so far.

1533: It looks like a first Bolton win at Donny since 1904 and they could be heading off the 'selected matches' list at the break.

1532: GOAL Doncaster 0-3 Bolton
Is it a goal or isn't it? The linesman says no, but referee Dermot Gallagher says yes. Idan Tal sees his initial shot parried but he is on hand to power in the rebound which falls in his path. The officials would have been debating that old active v passive chestnut.

1531: GOAL Nottingham Forest 2-0 Charlton
The Addicks are in trouble as Grant Holt makes it two for Forest with a simple close-range header and the visitors' defence nowhere to be seen. Justice, perhaps, as seconds earlier it looked like Jonathan Fortune had put through is own net with a shot that crashed back off the bar and seemingly over the line.

1531: GOAL Watford 1-1 Stockport
Malky Mackay levels things up for Watford against Stockport from close range after Darius Henderson flicks on a Tommy Smith's left-wing delivery.

1528: GOAL Blackpool 2-1 Aldershot
A flurry of goals from underdogs is completed by the biggest David of them all - Aldershot. Mark Moseley's initial shot is parried and Jon Grant follow up to convert.

1527: GOAL Nottingham Forest 1-0 Charlton
James Perch breaks down the left and his low cross is converted by Junior Agogo for his fifth goal of the season.

1524: Watford have failed to beat Stockport in their last three meetings. It surely cannot be four come tea-time today?

1523: GOAL Watford 0-1 Stockport
The Hornets are struggling in the Premiership and now the FA Cup. David Poole gives Stockport the lead.

1522: GOAL Doncaster 0-2 Bolton
Kevin Davies slides a pass across the edge of the box for Andranik Teymourian who hits across the ball and lashes in a fierce drive to set Bolton on the way to a place in the fourth round.

1520: Nathan Tyson whips a cross in from the left for Nottingham Forest but James Perch heads wide after climbing well to beat Charlton's defenders to the ball.

1518: That is the first goal Birmingham have scored against Newcastle in 223 minutes of football!

1517: GOAL Birmingham 1-0 Newcastle
A first sniff of a shock, well at least an upset if not a shock. Sebastian Larsson swings in a corner which Matthew Upson nods into the path of DJ Campbell to stab home from close range.

1516: GOAL Chelsea 1-0 Macclesfield
Frank Lampard shows Andriy Shevchenko how to do it. He pounces on a loose ball which had bobbled off the shin of Salomon Kalou in the box and slams a shot beyond keeper Tommy Lee.

1515: Nottingham Forest's Nathan Tyson goes on a glory run, but after a length-of-the-field run he stumbles at the last and cannot get a shot away on the edge of the box.

1512: A shot on goal at Stamford Bridge for the Premiership champions, but in pouring rain it is an Andriy Shevchenko 'special' which lacks any venom. What has happened to this lethal marksman?

1511: A good shout for a penalty at Upton Park but nothing comes from Joe O'Cearuill's clumsy challenge on Luis Boa Morte.

1509: Reading against Burnley has been re-scheduled for Tuesday 9 January.

1508: GOAL Doncaster 0-1 Bolton
Rovers lose possession and Stelios Giannakopoulos breaks before lifting a ball over the home defence into the path of Kevin Davies who cracks home a shot on the volley.

1507: GOAL Blackpool 2-0 Aldershot
Adrian Forbes swings in a cross from the right and Andy Morrell is on hand to head in and double Blackpool's advantage.

1504: GOAL Blackpool 1-0 Aldershot
Scott Vernon is on the end of a flick-on to tuck in the opener at Bloomfield Road. This is clearly not a day for non-league clubs.

1502: At a sparse St Andrews Birmingham fans are finding their entertainment from jeering former Blue Nicky Butt and former Aston Villa players Nobby Solano and James Milner.

1500: Here we go then.

1458: New-boy Luis Boa Morte gets a rousing reception from Hammers fans as he walks out at Upton Park.

1457: Teams start coming out up and down the country and the Watford and Stockport players are greeted by wet and wild conditions at Vicarage Road.

1455: One for the stattos out there. Premiership teams have a 70% win ratio over the last four seasons at this stage so don't hold your breath for any upsets. Of the games they have lost 13 have been to a fellow top-flight club.

1453: And then there were 22! Reading against Burnley has been called off because of that waterlogged pitch at the Madejski Stadium. Boos great the announcement, but any other decision would have been laughable. That's the second weekend running the Clarets have had a match called off.

1450: It is that time of the year when people rave on about the romance of the Cup. Bet they didn't have those two smooching at Leicester in mind though when the phrase was coined.

1448: There's a cluster of Macclesfield fans at Stamford Bridge with a flag bearing the message 'Against all Odds'. Fair comment with Chelsea 1-25 to win down at the bookies. Paul Ince's League Two outfit are 33-1.

1446: Ryder Cup hero Lee Westwood is supposedly a Nottingham Forest fan, so what's he doing at Doncaster Rovers? Having a good old chin-wag with Donny chairman John Ryan, that's what.

1444: New West Ham signing Luis Boa Morte is going to make his debut wearing number 13. No sign of Nigel Reo-Coker. Is he injured or has he been tactically rested to guard against being cup-tied if he moves clubs.

1442: Bad conditions for Reading and Burnley at the Madejski Stadium. Teeming rain and a drenched pitch means there's a fair chance there will be no football there, although you could grow rice.

1440: OK, Doncaster have only played one match at their new £32m ground, but they are on a good run of form at home when you include games at the Belle Vue. They have not shipped a goal in winning their last five home games.

1439: Doncaster's sparkling new Keepmoat Stadium looks spick and span for their big match against Bolton. Donny are unbeaten there and have yet to concede a goal.

1436: A good sight for Chelsea fans. Petr Cech, sporting a rugby scrum cap, is being put through his paces in goal. He is not involved in the game but it shows his comeback is bang on track.

1432: Macclesfield are tuning up on the turf at Stamford Bridge. The steepling stands are a far cry from their 6,335-capacity Moss Rose home. The champions may not include Didier Drogba but it is a strong team all the same, although the bench is weak.

1430: In an effort to find the magic of the Cup we will have a wanderlust spirit this afternoon and thrilling acts of giantkilling will soon find their way on to our selected list of matches.

You can find scores from all the third round matches by using the tab on the top of the screen labelled 'All the scores'.

1423 That result means Aldershot are left flying the flag for non-league football in this season's FA Cup. Shots supporters set off in the early hours this morning for their match at Blackpool. Hopefully they will have something to cheer them on the journey back.

1422: FULL-TIME Tamworth 1-4 Norwich
The Canaries make light work of seeing of Conference side Tamworth with a brace apiece from Dion Dublin and Darren Huckerby before Kyle Storer's late consolation.

1320: Barnet's home match against Colchester has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Underhill which means there will be 46 teams in FA Cup action at 1500 GMT in 23 matches.
