Wolves 1-3 West Ham
Marlon Harewood celebrates scoring for West Ham
First-half goals from Brian Deane, Marlon Harewood and David Connolly took First Division West Ham through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Deane's 20-yard volley put the Hammers ahead after just four minutes, before Harewood netted from close-range.

Ioan Viorel Ganea's well-struck shot pulled a goal back for Wolves but Connolly found space on the left and fired in the Hammers' third.

Wolves youngster Leon Clarke missed a golden chance in the second half.

Deane, restored to the starting line-up by boss Alan Pardew, gave the Hammers the perfect start, smashing home after Connolly's nod-down.

Wolves had a chance to equalise when Silas rounded goalkeeper Stephen Bywater just outside the box, but his lob was cleared by Anton Ferdinand.

And at the other end, Paul Butler had to produce a last-ditch tackle to thwart Michael Carrick as the West Ham midfielder was poised to shoot from the edge of the six-yard box.

It was only a temporary reprieve for the Premiership side, who went further behind when Christian Dailly headed Jon Harley's left-wing cross down for Harewood to fire past goalkeeper Michael Oakes.

KEY MOMENTS
4 mins: Deane fires West Ham ahead
21 mins: Harewood scores the Hammers' second
23 mins: Ganea pulls a goal back
32 mins: Connolly puts West Ham 3-1 up
68 mins: Clarke misses an open goal
86 mins: Cameron hits the post

Wolves hit back in the 23rd minute. Silas picked out Ganea on the edge of the area and the Romanian rifled in his first goal in English football.

But more slack Wolves defending helped the visitors restore their two-goal cushion nine minutes later.

Connolly was given time and space down the left-hand channel and his right-footed shot beat Oakes and went in off the underside of the crossbar.

With his side heading out of the competition, Wolves boss Dave Jones threw on striker Clarke in place of Kenny Miller just before the hour mark.

The youngster almost made an immediate impact when he rose highest to head Mark Kennedy's cross over the bar.

Clarke then missed a simple opportunity to score.

After Ganea beat the offside trap and saw his shot saved by Bywater, Clarke had the easy task of tucking away the rebound but steered the ball wide of an unguarded goal.

Wolves' afternoon was summed up when Colin Cameron was put through four minutes from the end.

The midfielder poked the ball past Bywater only to see his shot strike the post.
