Giuliano Grazioili scored twice as the Bees avoided an upset at Stalybridge.
Barnet went in front when Grazioli volleyed home from eight yards after Simon King's corner.
Stalybridge should have levelled from the penalty spot but Phil Eastwood's effort was saved by Shane Gore before Grazioli won it in the 84th minute.
Barnet's Danny Maddix and Stalybridge duo Kenny Mayers and Ben Smith were all sent off in a frantic finale.
