Yeovil put Second Division Wrexham to the sword in clinical fashion to register
a 4-1 win in a tie that was over as a contest by the hour mark.
The Third Division Glovers scored three goals in around 20 minutes either side
of half-time and Jake Edwards added a fourth against his former club in the 66th
Yeovil made their first breakthrough in the 39th minute when Edwards sent Lee
Johnson scurrying down the right side of the box and he flighted in a right-foot
cross that the unmarked Welshman Kevin Gall nodded home.
Their manager's half-time observations must still have been ringing in their
ears when Wrexham found themselves two down.
Gavin Williams - another Welshman - got in front of his marker to nudge a Nick Crittenden cross
into the bottom corner.
In the 59th minute Colin Pluck put the game beyond Wrexham when he rose
highest at a corner and nodded the ball in under goalkeeper Andy Dibble.
The fourth came when Darren Way nipped clear of the Wrexham defence and cut
the ball back for Edwards to slot home.
Dragons substitute Chris Armstrong bagged a consolation goal in the 88th
minute with a nice lofted finish after the Yeovil defence gave the ball away.
