Northampton hit back from two goals down to secure a replay in the FA Cup second round. Adam Tann struck twice for Cambridge after five and 45 minutes as they dominated the first half. Tann headed home an Omer Riza cross and then produced a similar header from Paul Wanless' floating ball. But Northampton reduced the deficit when Marco Gabbiadini crossed for Darryn Stamp to superbly glance a header inside the post 10 minutes into the second half. Town then took control and after Stamp and Derek Asamoah had forced great saves from Shaun Marshall, they drew level through Chris Hargreaves with seven minutes remaining.
