Teenager Matthew Lock scored his first goal for Exeter five minutes from time to put the Grecians into the second round of the FA Cup with a home win over Forest Green Rovers. The replay looked like going to extra time until Gareth Sheldon made a strong run down the right and cut the ball back to Lock, who rifled it home with the aid of a deflection. Forest Green should have gone ahead after only six minutes when Kayode Odejayi hit the post with a close-range shot. But that was just a taste of things to come and in the 19th minute they took the lead. Martin Foster sent over a good cross and former Exeter favourite John Richardson scored with a header. But the lead did not last long as Carl Pettifer produced a cross which Sheldon headed home.
