Chris Greenacre scored a superb hat-trick as Third Division Mansfield caused an upset against Huddersfield.

Greenacre has now scored 20 goals this season after the Stags recorded their fifth clean sheet in six games to shock Lou Macari's men.

Greenacre began the rout on 27 minutes, firing the ball home after a great run by full-back Bobby Hassell.

Mansfield goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington competently dealt with shots from Dwayne Mattis and Danny Schofield.

The Stags extended their lead just before half-time as Huddersfield were caught square and the unmarked Wayne Corden swept home a pass from Liam Lawrence.

The lively Greenacre shrugged off Steve Jenkins to steer the ball home from a difficult angle after 68 minutes and he then volleyed home a Lawrence cross on 80 minutes to complete a memorable treble.

Mansfield: Pilkington, Hassell, Tankard, Robinson, Barrett, Corden, Lawrence, Williamson, Disley, Bradley, Greenacre. Subs: Bingham, Pemberton, White, Asher, Jervis.

Huddersfield: Margetson, Heary, Jenkins, Gray, Dyson, Schofield, Holland, Irons, Mattis, Knight, Booth. Subs: Phillip Senior, Moses, Baldry, Macari, Hay.

Referee: M Pike (Barrow-in-Furness).
