Lincoln 0-1 Dagenham
Lincoln City were amazingly dumped out of the FA Cup 1-0 by Dagenham and Redbridge after goalkeeper Matthew Ghent somehow allowed a weak last-minute Mark Janney shot to slip through his legs.

Janney skipped clear down the left flank and hit a side-foot effort that Ghent, on his full football league debut, allowed to trickle over the line.

It was no more than the Conference side deserved after more than matching their Division Three opponents in a fiercely-contested second round tie.

Striker Lee Thorpe came closest to handing City the lead in the first quarter of an hour, when his flick-header from a Richard Peacock free-kick was scrambled clear by the visitors' defence.

The Daggers' Paul Terry brought a sensational save from Ghent with a cheeky 20-yard chip on 23 minutes.

Bundled

Garry Hill's side came out fighting after the break and Lee Goodwin nodded a corner on to the roof of the Imps' net.

The Daggers should have gone in front on the hour, but Junior McDougald somehow completely miskicked only five yards from goal.

Imps keeper Ghent grabbed a fierce drive from Danny Shipp and held on to a McDougald flick as the game moved up a gear.

At the other end, substitute Tony Battersby came close with a shot on the turn, and saw his bundled effort cleared off the line on 79 minutes.

But it was left to Janney as the game moved into stoppage time, and his scuffed effort somehow slipped between Ghent's legs for a truly awful last-gasp winner.
