Hull 0-1 Kettering
Non-league Kettering Town turned the form book on its head to dump Hull City out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory at Boothferry Park.

Kettering arrived with just three league victories to their name this season, but Peter Morris' men held their own before Matt Fisher's superb 57th-minute strike sealed their progression.

Hull had suffered just one defeat in nine games, but Town comfortably held off what few chances Brian Little's men could throw at them.

Dale Watkins and Fisher both went close for the visitors in a spirited first-half display, although Mark Greaves should have put Hull ahead in the 23rd minute, but wastefully dragged his shot wide.

Then, eight minutes before the interval, John Eyre's turn and shot was neatly gathered by visiting keeper Ian Bowling.

Hull's Jamaican star Ian Goodison wasted good headed chances either side of the interval and the home side's profligacy was clinically punished just before the hour mark.

A long free-kick from Craig Norman was nodded down by Watkins into the path of Fisher and the former Army man rifled a 25-yard volley past Paul Musselwhite.

The plucky visitors could have doubled their advantage after 79 minutes when Watkins found himself clean through only to miscontrol the ball which went straight to Musselwhite.

And in the dying seconds substitute Wayne Diuk could have extended the lead but pulled his shot wide.

Hull: Musselwhite, Edwards, Harper, Goodison, Perry, Brightwell, Greaves, Brabin, Philpott, Eyre, Brown. Subs: Bracey, Whitmore, Whitney, Swales, Wood.

Kettering: Bowling, Codner, Lenagh, Perkins, Norman, McNamara, Fisher, Brown, Hudson, Inman, Watkins. Subs: Shutt, Adams, Cowling, Diuk, Wilson.

Referee: M Warren (Walsall)
