Former Brazil left-back Roberto Carlos has joined Russia's Anzhi Makhachkala on a two-and-a-half year deal.
"We can officially announce our agreement with 2002 World Cup winning defender Roberto Carlos," Anzhi said in a statement on their website.
Roberto Carlos, 37, has opted to move to Russia after ending his contract with Corinthians by mutual consent.
In a distinguished career he has played for Real Madrid and Inter Milan, as well as winning 125 caps for Brazil.
Roberto Carlos joined Corinthians at the beginning of 2010 and had a good season, being voted the best left-back in the Brazilian championship.
But he was targeted by fans during violent protests against the team following their shock early exit from the Copa Libertadores this month.
