England's Howard Webb will referee Saturday's Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan at the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.

The 38-year-old has taken charge of 19 Champions League fixtures since joining the international ranks in 2005.

He refereed six games this season including the home leg of Inter's quarter-final against CSKA Moscow.

Fellow Englishmen Michael Mullarkey and Darren Cann will be his assistants and the fourth official is Martin Atkinson.

Mullarkey and Cann will also be assisting Webb when he takes charge of three games at the 2010 World Cup which starts next month.

Yorkshireman Webb also officiated in two Euro 2008 games and caused controversy when he awarded hosts Austria a late penalty against Poland for a 1-1 draw.

He was on the receiving end of fierce criticism from then Poland coach Leo Beenhakker, although his decision to award the penalty was backed by Uefa.

The Champions League final kicks off at 1945 BST.
