Barcelona star Andres Iniesta set for four week lay-off
Iniesta has been capped 40 times by Spain
Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is likely to miss most of his side's end-of-season run-in after he suffered an injury during training.
The Spain international underwent tests on the problem which revealed he had suffered a "total rupture of the right femoral biceps muscle" in his leg.
The injury looks set to keep him sidelined for up to a month.
Spain open their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on 16 June and Iniesta is eager to feature.
According to the Catalan club's official website, the injury is likely to keep the midfielder out for four weeks.
That would rule him out of many of the Spanish giants' final seven league matches as well as both legs of the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old, who came through the prestigious youth ranks at the Nou Camp, has featured in 39 games this season in all competitions in which Pep Guardiola's men have ran out victorious in 29.
Barca, who are currently three points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, will be hoping that the midfielder will be fit in time for the Champions League final on 22 May, if they get that far.
