Savo's Parma move imminent
Savo Milosevic
Milosevic: Wanted as a replacement for Hernan Crespo
Yugoslav striker Savo Milosevic has arrived in Parma for a medical check-up and is expected to complete a move to the Serie A club from Spain's Real Zaragoza.

"Milosevic is here and he is undergoing a medical test. Nothing has been signed yet but it could happen this afternoon or this evening," a Parma spokesman said.

Milosevic has agreed the terms of a four-year contract according to Italian media reports.

Parma recently sold their Argentine international striker Hernan Crespo to Lazio for an Italian transfer record of 36m and are keen to replace him.

Milosevic scored five goals for Yugoslavia at Euro 2000 making him joint top scorer with Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert.

Transfer speculation

Last season the Yugoslav scored 19 goals in 30 league games for Zaragoza and has been the target of transfer speculation throughout the close season.

The 26-year-old striker began his career with Partizan Belgrade and after 74 goals in 98 games for the Yugoslav club he moved to Aston Villa.

Marcelo Salas
Salas: Move to Parma seems off

Following three largely disappointing seasons with Villa he moved to Zaragoza in the summer of 1998 and quickly rediscovered his form.

Parma's interest in Milosevic is likely to signal the end of any lingering hopes Lazio had of selling Chile striker Marcelo Salas to the club.

Salas was originally offered to Parma as part of the Crespo deal and talks have continued since, but they appear to have stalled because of the player's salary demands.
