Rhyl 0-4 Partizan Belgrade

Champions League

Partizan Belgrade underlined their overwhelming favourites tag against Rhyl at Belle Vue with a convincing victory in the Uefa Champions League.

Mladen Krstajic's brilliant 17th-minute strike from a free kick set the tone in the second qualifying round, first leg.

The Serbian club's Brazilian signing Cordova Cleo struck a minute later.

Welsh Premier League champions Rhyl then saw Lamine Diarra score on the stroke of half-time and Nenad Djordjevic head home after 70 minutes.

The hosts belied their part-time status by continuing to chase their more illustrious opponents.

But all too often that was simply a case of the Welsh side chasing shadows on a night when they were outclassed.

Rhyl travel to Belgrade for the second leg on Tuesday, 21 July.
