Beauchamp wins red card reprieve

Beauchamp was dismissed incorrectly by referee Trefoloni

The red card received by Aalborg defender Michael Beauchamp during the Champions League draw with Celtic on Wednesday night has been rescinded.

Beauchamp was mistakenly dismissed by Italian referee Matteo Trefoloni after team-mate Michael Jakobsen fouled Georgios Samaras with 11 minutes to go.

Uefa overturned the decision and Jakobsen will now be punished instead.

He will miss Aalborg's next match against Manchester United in Denmark on Tuesday 30 September.
