We'll learn lesson - Bangor boss

Bangor boss Neville Powell says their 6-1 Uefa Cup battering by FC Midtjylland can only help the club improve in the Welsh Premier League.

Powell says the return leg in Denmark on 31 July holds no fears.

"Playing such a top-quality side so early in the season was difficult, but my players can only learn from that," said Powell.

"We'll enjoy the away trip. It's a learning curve. It's where we want to be and we know we have to improve."

Powell says the Bangor fans' response to watching his side slide from a 2-1 half-time deficit to the comprehensive defeat was a bonus.

"The lads are disappointed, but we'll pick them up and it's been a good experience for them.

"They were very useful, weren't they? They were excellent and gave us a good football lesson.

"But the lads kept going until the end and the supporters were absolutely fantastic and I'm sure that will stand us in good stead for the season in the Welsh Premiership.

"FC Midtjylland will go far. We knew they were useful, but having watched them they were a different class.

"Some of their play was a joy to watch and it was difficult for our lads to pick up on it, but we kept at it and the fans were superb."
