Scholes fires Man Utd into the final
A semi-final tie stood between Barcelona and Man Utd's first appearance in the Champions League final since their dramatic win over Bayern Munich in 1999.
In the first leg in Spain, United were awarded a penalty after only two minutes following a handball by Gabriel Milito.
Cristiano Ronaldo took the spot-kick for what would have been his 39th goal of the season but blazed the ball wide.
Paul Scholes, suspended for the 1999 final, scored the only goal - a brilliant swerving shot - in the return leg and sealed his starting place in the final.
