1300: Blinding stuff. That's it from me, thanks for the posts - you know it's a big deal when God gets involved, I guess. Good luck to all the British teams in Europe next year - I'm off to the City Ground tomorrow to watch Forest beat Port Vale. Europe in three years - come on you Reds!!

1257: "I think it's a good draw for Rangers. Shame were at home first but we should get through this tie and the next."
MD, Cov, via text

1247: Damn, forgot the dates again. The first legs of the first Uefa Cup kockout stage will be played on 13 & 14 February and the second legs on 21 February. For the next round, first legs on 6 March and second legs on 12 & 13 March. Hope that helps.

1243: "At least Aberdeen will get a good pay day out of it. Unlikely to progress though."
Neil, via text

1241: "They are all big ties at this stage. We're always looking to strengthen the squad, you never know in the transfer window. As for Nicolas Anelka, he's happy at Bolton and there's no clause saying he can leave for a top four team."
Alan Duckworth, Bolton chief executive.

1233: "I think considering the teams we could have been drawn against, Tottenham can count Slavia Prague as a good draw - although the PSV game after could be tough. I must say, is it just me or does the Uefa Cup look much stronger this season?"
davethemonk on 606

1232: "What's with the alphabetical draw then? Bayern were always going to get drawn against the Dons."
Scottish Steve in Wales, via text

1230: "Bolton shouldn't bother turning up? Now where have I heard that before? (Munich, Mancs etc). A trip to Madrid in mid-February is better than most of you lot are going to get!"
RememberScarborough on 606

1229: "Thanks Father Christmas, SK Brann with the second leg at home - just what I wanted. Harry get the drinks in!"
Richie, Halewood - Everton Fan, via text

1228: Phew! Are you lot still there?

1228: Marseille/Spartak Moscow v Zenit/Villarreal.

1227: Slavia Prague/Tottenham v PSV/Helsingborgs.

1226: Rosenborg/Fiorentina v Brann/Everton.

1225: AEK Athens/Getafe v Benfica/Nuremberg.

1225: Galatasaray/Leverkusen v FC Zurich/Hamburg.

1224: Bolton/Atletico v Sporting Lisbon/FC Basle.

1224: Rangers/Panathinaikos v Werder Bremen/Braga.

1223: Bear with me: Anderlecht/Bordeaux v Aberdeen/Bayern.

1222: "Can history repeat itself for Aberdeen? They beat Bayern Munich 3-2 over two legs in 1983 on their way to winning the Cup Winners' Cup. Bring it on Bayern!"
morrison1976 on 606

1221: Now, they're changing the stage so they can do the draw for the last 16 of the Uefa Cup, too. Which is a bit needless, in my humble opinion.

1220: The last tie is Marseille against Spartak Moscow.

1219: Benfica, from Portugal, face German side FC Nuremberg.

1218: Werder Bremen will play SC Braga.

1218: Sporting Lisbon, the Portuguese team, meet FC Basle in the last 32.

1217: Rosenborg, from Norway, face Italians Fiorentina.

1216: Slavia Prague of the Czech Republic are drawn against Tottenham.

1215: Dutch team PSV Eindhoven meet Swedes Helsingborgs.

1214: Scottish side Rangers are out... and they will play against Greek outfit Panathinaikos.

1214: Time for part two.

1213: Swiss champions FC Zurich will entertain German side Hamburg SV.

1212: Norwegians SK Brann will play Everton, with David Moyes' side at home in the second leg.

1211: Anderlecht are drawn. They will play Bordeaux.

1211: Galatasaray will meet Bayer Leverkusen, with the first leg to be played in Turkey.

1210: Russian champions Zenit St Petersburg will play Villarreal.

1209: Bolton are out of the hat. They will face big-spending Atletico Madrid. Two shockers for the British boys so far.

1208: AEK Athens will host Spanish side Getafe.

1207: The Uefa Cup draw has started. Aberdeen will play Bayern Munich.

1205: "Hard draw for Bolton please - we need to concentrate on the league!"
Beth S, via text

1204: "Doesn't matter now who we get. We've exceeded expectations getting this far. Lee 'the goals' Miller will see us through."
Stalin, Edinburgh - Aberdeen fan, via text

1202: "Hopefully Juande Ramos will make it a hat-trick! So close last year, let's bring the cup back to the Lane!"
Chris, Cheshire, via text

1200: "Have you ever noticed how Tony Hibbert looks like a shoe. Got no real relevance to the draw, just thought I'd mention it."
Welshy in work via text

1159: "I think Rangers are capable of progressing against any of the eight teams they could be drawn against. Aberdeen will not progress regardless of who they play, so a tie with Bayern Munich would be good for them. Saying that, they may have an outside chance if they draw Getafe."
Neil_from_Skye on 606

1158: "Rangers don't want Fiorentina. Any other team and we're sorted."
Jadams, Glasgow, via text

1156: "I'm really proud of how Everton have performed this season, I hope it'll be a nice easy draw so we can get to that final and lift some silver! Come on you mighty Toffees!"
Steve, Greenford, via text

1155: Right then, time to focus on the Uefa Cup. That OK?

1153: "We will go to Glasgow to win. We must be ready and very focused, the firts leg is massively important. As for Frank Rijkaard, we are very, very happy with him. He is a great coach and we will keep him. With Ronaldinho, he is not for sale."
Txiki Beguiristain, director of football at Barcelona

1148: "To 1137, don't mention it."
God, via text

1147: Back to the Champions League: "We wanted Real Madrid but I suppose Barcelona will do,we have a good record against them beating them at Celtic Park and drawing in Barcelona over two legs."
greenauldreekie on 606

1145: Now then, let's have some Uefa Cup chat. I'll be honest - this stuff was prepared by my colleague Dan Warren last night, so I'll pass on any thanks/criticism to him...

Uefa Cup group winners: Everton, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Hamburg SV, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Getafe, Bordeaux.

They will play a third-placed team, but not one from the same group or country: Zenit St Petersburg, Aberdeen, AEK Athens, Brann Bergen, FC Zurich, Bolton Wanderers, Anderlecht, Galatasaray.

Second-place Uefa Cup teams: Nuremberg, Panathinaikos, Fiorentina, Basel, Spartak Moscow, Braga, Tottenham Hotspur, Helsingborg.

They will play a team that finished third in their Champions League group, but not one from the same country: Olympique Marseille, Rosenborg Trondheim, Werder Bremen, Benfica, Rangers, Sporting, PSV Eindhoven, Slavia Prague.

1139: "If Man Utd don't give Benzema space and don't let Juninho shoot from distance they should be fine. Lyon are not the team they were a couple of years ago."
geezerpostmanpat on 606

1137: "Thank you God."
Roberto, Barcelona, via text

1134: "Chelsea are due an easy tie for once. Coming top in one of the hardest qualifying groups (with Valencia and Schalke - the best of the German sides) confirms that."
oldmasterjds on 606

1133: I've been an idiot. I haven't even told you when the games will be played. First legs on 19 & 20 February, second legs on 4 & 5 March. I'm ever so sorry.

1131: "Everyone writing us off already - I absolutely love it. Where have I heard this before... oh yes! When we played Juventus, Chelsea, AC Milan, Barcelona, Chelsea (again). Bring on Inter! They're not so good in Europe. When was the last time they even made a semi-final?"
Agger's Left Peg on 606

1129: "I think the Gunners will blossom against Milan. They tend to fare better against the attacking sides of Europe since their counter-attacking football is so strong."
Olly in north London, via text

1126: "Wow - what a set of ties. Man Utd and Chelsea to get through, Liverpool and Arsenal can progress. What teams can Rangers draw in the Uefa Cup?"
Matt, Somerset, via text

All in good time fella, let's wrap up the big one first.

1123: "Of course it's a big one. Inter are a very good team, but there are no easy games at this stage," says Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry.

1122: "On Liverpool's recent form they will get mauled by Inter, especially away. Arsenal will struggle also. United and Chelsea should be OK, but could still be tricky for United."
Ssmith25 on 606

1117: The last tie sees Turkish side Fenerbahce take on Spanish outfit Sevilla.

1116: Olympiakos are next up. They will host Avram Grant's Chelsea in the first leg.

1116: Premier League leaders Arsenal have been drawn against reigning champions AC Milan. What a tie.

1115: "Damn!!! I wanted Barca."
SirLordArseneWenger on 606

1115: AS Roma will be at home in their first leg and they will face... Real Madrid.

1114: It's Liverpool's turn. They will play against Italian side Inter Milan.

1113: German side Schalke come out of the pot. They are to meet Portuguese side FC Porto.

1112: Lyon are next. They will entertain Manchester United, before travelling to Old Trafford.

1111: Celtic are out of the hat first. They will face Barcelona, with the first leg at Celtic Park. Get the texts in, Bhoys.

1111: I think we're about to get serious. Are you braced?

1110: "Does the BBC not enjoy Celtic texts? Face it - no better team in Europe at home. I can already see the fear in the big guns' eyes."
Anonymous, via text

Love Celtic texts, absolutely love 'em.

1109: Don't worry, you're not missing anything. Just chat. I've told you most of it already, honestly.

1107: "Do they have different areas for the clubs to sit in based on whether you are a past winner or not? Chelsea, Arsenal... over there in the corner. Liverpool, Man U, Celtic come this way... hey, where's Villa and Forest?"
TheDys on 606

1104: El Nino - Liverpool's former Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres - wants a quick return to Spain, to play against his old adversaries Real. "I hope to play them - that would be a a great tie," said the goal-hungry marksman.

1102: David Taylor, the general secretary of Uefa, gets proceedings under way in Nyon. He congratulates every team for reaching this stage, but reserves special praise for new Club World Cup winners AC Milan and the new World Footballer of the Year, Kaka. Exciting times.

1101: "Man Utd to draw Fenerbahce, Arsenal to draw Barca, lucky Liverpool to draw either Milan team, Chelsea to draw Celtic."
Phil, via text

1100: "Am I the only person who is sitting here, drinking tea on a Friday morning checking the website for the Uefa Cup draw?"
Anonymous via text

Depends where 'here' is, anonymous. But you've got a little while to wait before your draw, I'm afraid. Get the teas in.

1058: Here's what Arsene Wenger thinks: "Maybe it is not necessarily a disadvantage to play the big clubs - at least they will play football as well."

1056: "In the rehearsal this morning we (Liverpool) drew Barcelona"

1053: "In response to 1034 - Gooners can't moan if they do draw Barca... rotating away to Sevilla was a 'Rafa' type mistake so they deserve a tough draw. United to get Schalke!"
Anonymous via text

1052: "I used to live just near Nyon and cannot for the life of me understand why Uefa have headquarters there. It's like the Swiss equivalent of Bishop's Stortford. Pointless, irrelevant, but not too far from the airport so you can get away quickly!"
Des Foy's amazing sidestep on 606

1049: In case you hadn't gathered, it's the eight group winners against the eight runners-up and you also cannot face a team from the same country. A battle of Britain, however, is very much on the cards.

1046: So, as is the norm with these draws, there are only so many permutations per team. Here's a run down of who the British teams can meet:

ARSENAL: AC Milan, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Porto or Real Madrid.
CELTIC: Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Porto, Real Madrid or Sevilla.
CHELSEA: Celtic, Fenerbahce, Lyon, Olympiakos or Roma.
LIVERPOOL: AC Milan, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid or Sevilla.
MANCHESTER UNITED: Celtic, Fenerbahce, Lyon, Olympiakos or Schalke.

1034: "I just know Arsenal will draw Barcelona."

1031: Let's clear up a common misnomer first up. The draws are in Nyon - it's not Lyon misspelt, it's a place in Switzerland about 25 kilometres north of Geneva.

1030: So that leaves you lot with me for the rest of the morning and the start of the afternoon, too. There's no actual live action as such, but are you telling me you're not excited about the Champions League and Uefa Cup draws? Thought as much.

1025: Morning. In a rare perfect piece on timing involving the England cricket team, my colleague Tom Fordyce has just wrapped up his live updates on the frankly shambolic performance in Sri Lanka. If you really, really want to know how it's going, read Fordo's 'as it happened' or Fletch's match report.
