2157: A grand total of 26 goals today, making it an average of 3.25 per game - and that's why we love the Champions League. Let's hope the likes of Chelsea, Celtic and Liverpool can continue that standard tomorrow. See you then.

2151: Over on BBC Sport's interactive player rater, Philippe Senderos just edges out Gilberto for Arsenal's worst player today on 4.31. Not surprisingly, Manchester United matchwinner Cristiano Ronaldo is rating highly on 8.44.

2148: "Gilberto better start thinking about his future. Performances like that are going to guarantee Diarra and Flamini stay ahead of him in the pecking order."
RasDam on 606

2146: "Nothing against Senderos, he's probably a decent guy and means well. But please give it up, we'll understand."
maxluton on 606

2144: Arsenal's defeat means they drop to second in Group H and their last game is at home to Steaua Bucharest. Sevilla, who lead by two points, visit Slavia Prague.

2142: "Cristiano Ronaldo was the difference between the two teams. I don't like to admit it but he is class, pure class."
Zola next Chelsea manager? on 606

2141: "It's really infuriating for Walter Smith because his team did not come under much pressure in the second half - except when they conceded. Rangers deserved a draw out of this one."
BBC 5 Live's Pat Nevin

2138: Hells bells, what a goalfest that was. So, Rangers are left needing a draw against Lyon in their final group game to qualify. Arsenal's hopes of finishing top of their group take a blow while Manchester United seal top spot in Group F.

2135: GOAL Man Utd 2-1 Sporting
Cristiano Ronaldo scores with a viciously dipping free-kick against his former club in the second minute of added time and they finish top of Group F.

2135: GOAL Inter Milan 3-0 Fenerbahce
Luis Jimenez scores at the death to make it 3-0

2134: "Deserved 3-1 for Sevilla, Arsenal have been under par tonight."
thyra7 on 606

2133: Manchester United have four minutes of added time in which to find a winner against Sporting.

2130: GOAL Sevilla 3-1 Arsenal
And that is definitely a penalty for Sevilla. Fredi Kanoute goes down under a challenge from Bacary Sagna and steps up to put away the penalty. Arsenal's unbeaten record this season surely ends here.

2127: GOAL Stuttgart 3-2 Rangers
What a nerve-shredding evening this has been for Rangers fans. Ludovic Magnin curls in a cross from the left and Ciprian Marica sticks out a leg to divert it just beyond the grasp of Allan McGregor. That doesn't actually change much - providing Lyon don't get a winner against Barcelona, Rangers will still need a draw in their last game.

2125: Lyon's equaliser against Barcelona leaves Rangers needing a draw against the French side in their final group game to go through to the last 16.

2122: GOAL Steaua Bucharest 1-1 Slavia Prague
Zdenek Senkerik equalises for Slavia with only 12 minutes remaining.

2121: GOAL Lyon 2-2 Barcelona
Eric Abidal concedes a penalty with a poorly-timed tackle on Kader Keita. Juninho sticks the spot-kick straight down the middle and we're all square.

2120: GOAL Dynamo Kiev 1-4 Roma
Mirko Vucinic gets his second and restores the three-goal lead for Roma.

2117: In between all those goals, Sevilla looked to have win a penalty for handball against Gilberto but amid confusion at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, the ref gave a drop ball instead.

2115: "There is now nothing to lose. If they lose 3-2 it doesn't matter. Rangers may as well go for it."
BBC Radio 5 Live's Pat Nevin

2112: GOAL Stuttgart 2-2 Rangers
Matthieu Delpierre's slip lets in Steven Naismith and the keeper can only push his cross out to Barry Ferguson who takes a touch before firing into the empty net.

2111: GOAL Inter Milan 2-0 Fenerbahce
Zlatan Ibrahimovic doubles Inter's lead.

2106: GOAL Dynamo Kiev 1-3 Roma
Ismael Bangoura gives Dynamo Kiev hope.

2105: GOAL Stuttgart 2-1 Rangers
Pavel Pardo put the hosts in front with a 20-yard drive from the edge of the box which flew through a ruck of players and into Allan McGregor's left-hand corner. That leaves Rangers needing a draw in their last game against Lyon.

2104: GOAL Man Utd 1-1 Sporting
Patrice Evra cuts the ball back for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose low shot is turned in by either Carlos Tevez or Sporting defender Marian Had. Either way it's an equaliser for United.

2102: A typical marauding run from Alan Hutton wins Rangers a corner in Stuttgart but they can't make anything from it. If Walter Smith's side can find a winner, they will qualify tonight.

2101: GOAL Lyon 1-2 Barcelona
Lionel Messi accelerates into the area and is brought down. The Argentine picks himself up to bury the spot-kick.

2100: "Caroline - Arsenal need a hero at the back, don't you agree...? Arsenal need Pascal Cygan. Sans doute."
Pascal (Villarreal) via text on 81111 (Um...)

2059: GOAL Inter Milan 1-0 Fenerbahce
Julio Cruz breaks the deadlock for Group G leaders Inter Milan.

2058: Bad news Gooners. Cesc Fabregas is replaced by Tomas Rosicky and the Spaniard is wincing as he walks.

2055: "It surprises me every time Fletcher gets a game. It's as if United play him so that the opposition has more chance of making a game of it."
Anon via text on 81111

2052: Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard will watch the second half in Lyon in the stands after being sent off for arguing with Italian referee Stefano Farina at the end of the first half.

2049: "It was a really bad lapse of concentration. I'm sure Walter Smith will have lashed into them at half-time."
BBC 5 Live's Roddy Forsyth on the Stuttgart equaliser

2048: Stuttgart keeper Raphael Schafer is out quickly to block Da Marcus Beasley's shot but the midfielder is injured in the process. He won't be back and Steven Naismith is on.

2048: We're under way again. Fergie rings the changes with Ryan Giggs and Carlos Tevez on for Nani and Darren Fletcher. Thoughts?

2044: "Fergie's Benitez-itis has cost him the last two games."
WillParishLFC on 606

2040: "The usually reliable Gilberto looks a shambles and Senderos his usual self. Other than them, we'd probably be two up and still cruising! Bendtner looks class!"
Anon via text on 81111

2036: "Craig (see 2028) are you watching the same game? Anderson's passing is one of the only good things about Man U tonight."
Ben via text on 81111

2033: Half-time everywhere. Rangers will be kicking themselves. But as it stands, they will only need a draw in their last game against Lyon to get to the last 16. Manchester United's players can expect a blast from the Fergie hairdryer, while Arsenal will probably get some measured criticism from Arsene Wenger.

2032: GOAL VfB Stuttgart 1-1 Rangers
Agony for Rangers. Stuttgart win a corner and Cacau backheels it in with virtually the last kick of the half.

2028: "So much for Anderson ruling the world (see 1909)! He looks useless as per usual."
Craig via text on 81111

2027: There's a little mouse on the pitch at Old Trafford. Bless.

2026: Ex-Spurs striker Fredi Kanoute goes close to putting a third past Arsenal but his low volleys spins just wide.

2021: GOAL Dynamo Kiev 0-3 Roma
Mirko Vucinic makes it 3-0 after only 35 minutes. If Manchester United lose, Roma can finish top by beating United in their last game.

2018: GOAL Dynamo Kiev 0-2 Roma
Ludovic Giuly doubles Roma's lead and with Manchester United losing, that means they have real hope of finishing top of Group F.

2018: GOAL Sevilla 2-1 Arsenal
Daniel Alves provides the free-kick from the right and Luis Fabiano finds space in the box to head home. Not sure Arsene Wenger will be too happy with his defence there.

2017: "Usually it takes a goal for United to get going, but the opposite has happened. We just seem dull and lifeless, and Sporting have picked up their game."
DillipCrisby on 606

2015: Rangers keeper Allan McGregor has to be on his guard as Thomas Hitzlsperger hammers in a low shot from distance - and he is.

2013: GOAL Stuttgart 0-1 Rangers
Rangers suffer a blow when Lee McCulloch is forced off injured but his replacement comes up trumps. DaMarcus Beasley's corner is headed down by Carlos Cuellar for Charlie Adam to finish from close range with his first touch of the ball. He had been on the field for 59 seconds.

2011: Manchester United are all over the place. Tomasz Kuszczak punches clear but the ball comes back in and Liedson have the ball in the net - before the offside flag goes up.

2008: GOAL Sevilla 1-1 Arsenal
Gilberto fails to get enough on his clearance and Seydou Keita punishes him with a stunning shot off the outside of his left foot.

2007: GOAL Man Utd 0-1 Sporting
Stunned silence at Old Trafford as Abel cuts in from the right and unleashes a swerving shot which somehow beats Tomasz Kuszczak at his near post. A nightmare for the United keeper.

2005: United winger Cristiano Ronaldo produces a moment of brilliance that almost unlocks his old club, a fantastic back-heel into the path of Louis Saha, but the striker pulls a right-foot shot just wide. Best chance so far.

2004: Keeper Allan McGregor comes to Rangers rescue with a fabulous low save from Cacau and Rangers go up the other end and almost score when Kevin Thomson's shot is deflected just past the post by a Stuttgart defender. From the corner, David Weir's header is cleared off the line.

2003: All a bit quiet at Old Trafford - although Manchester United are looking dangerous on the counter.

2001: GOAL Steaua Bucharest 1-0 Slavia Prague
Valentin Badea puts Steaua ahead, which gives them hope of qualifying for the Uefa Cup.

1959: Lee McCulloch heads a half-chance over the bar. Rangers have made a solid enough start in Germany without creating much.

1955: GOAL Sevilla 0-1 Arsenal
Nicklas Bendtner provides a dangerous cross from the right touchline for Eduardo who evades a challenge from Daniel Alves before finishing. That's the Croat's second goal in three Champions League games.

1952: GOAL Lyon 1-1 Barcelona
Juninho takes a 45-yard free-kick, Barca defender Carles Puyol misses his header and the ball bounces once before beating keeper Victor Valdes. An odd goal - but it could be significant.

1951: GOAL Dynamo Kiev 0-1 Roma
Christian Panucci puts the Italians ahead. Roma can still pip Manchester United to top spot in Group F.

1948: GOAL Lyon 0-1 Barcelona
Bojan Krkic escapes down the right wing and crosses for Andres Iniesta to slide home. Bad news for Lyon, good news for Rangers. And Barcelona obviously.

1946: And we are under way.

1944: The stirring Champions League anthem is out of the way. How I long for a player to sing along to it one day... anyway, we're good to go.

1943: "Wenger is taking a bigger risk than most realise. If Seville win against a second-string Arsenal tonight (which I believe they will), then Arsenal will almost certainly finish second in their group, and thus face a top side in the last 16."
thyra7 on 606

1940: The 2,500-strong Rangers support are being "treated" to some good old-fashioned German rock at the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadium.

1937: "C'MON YOU GERS. The NARSA (North American Rangers Supporters Club) like all Rangers fans are praying for a place in the last 16 tonight. "
scotchigan on 606

1933: "Obviously if we get through tonight it'd be a tremendous achievement. But we have an extremely tough game and Lyon are a good side."
Rangers manager Walter Smith

1931: "I am surprised that Ronaldinho is on the bench for Barca, Henry doesn't even make the team! But still two very experienced and strong line-ups. This is gonna be a fantastic game."
dirk-kuyt18 on 606

1924: Rangers beat Stuttgart in their opening Group E match - or matchday 1 as they call it in Uefa world - and since then the German champions have seen their hopes of progress disappear. They have lost all four games and let in 10 goals in the process. They lie seventh in the Bundesliga but tonight are without the influential Mario Gomez.

1920: It's all over in the Lokomotiv Stadium. PSV can still qualify for the group stages after a 1-0 win, CSKA can't. The winner of the Inter Milan v Fernerbahce match - if indeed there is one - will go into the last 16.

1912: TEAM NEWS Sevilla v Arsenal
Arsenal team: Almunia, Justin Hoyte, Toure, Senderos, Traore, Eboue, Fabregas, Silva, Denilson, Eduardo, Bendtner. Subs: Lehmann, Sagna, Rosicky, Diarra, Flamini, Song Billong, Walcott.

1910: PSV are hanging on to a 1-0 lead in a snowy Moscow with less than 10 minutes remaining. If they hold out, that'll keep alive their hopes of qualifying from Group G.

1909: "Anderson playing in the hole? Yes!! Tonight ladies and gentlemen, a star is born. This boy will rule the world."
Big Dave via text on 81111

1905: "I reckon the Lyon match will be the most interesting."
electricChelsea91 on 606

1902: Rangers will qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League with victory over Stuttgart tonight - providing Lyon don't beat Barcelona. And in a boost for Walter Smith's side, the French side are without leading scorer Karim Benzema.

1900: "I think Alex Ferguson underestimates Sporting Lisbon but saying that I think Manchester United will win 3-0."
herewegojdefoe on 606

1855: TEAM NEWS Man Utd v Sporting
Manchester United team: Kuszczak, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher, Nani, Saha. Subs: Van der Sar, Hargreaves, Brown, Giggs, Pique, Simpson, Tevez.

1850: TEAM NEWS Stuttgart v Rangers
Here's how Rangers line up in Germany: McGregor, Hutton, Cuellar, Weir, Papac, Hemdani, Beasley, Ferguson, Thomson, McCulloch, Darcheville. Subs: Carroll, Boyd, Adam, Broadfoot, Whittaker, Cousin, Naismith.

1844: Dobryj vecer, goeden avond, buona sera, iyi aksamlar, bon soir, buenas tardes, boa tarde, buna seara, dobrư vecer, guten abend, good evening. Ooooh, I've gone all European.
