Rangers defender David Weir hopes victory over Red Star Belgrade will cement the Glasgow's club place in the Champions League long-term.
Walter Smith is delighted his side have reached the group stage
A 0-0 draw in Serbia was enough to take Rangers through 1-0 on aggregate.
"Glasgow Rangers should be in the Champions League year in, year out and I hope that's the start of it," Weir told BBC Sport after the qualifier.
Boss Walter Smith said: "It means an awful lot for the club as everyone wants to play in the group stage."
Rangers progressed thanks to an efficient defensive performance that protected the late goal scored for Nacho Novo in the first leg.
"It was a very tough match, as we thought it would be," said Smith.
"We had a little nervy spell at the start of the game, but we managed to hold and everybody is delighted.
"Allan McGregor and the back four handled it very well.
"There are other aspects that we have to improve on, but the work ethic is there."
