Ajax midfielder Edgar Davids is set to be on the sidelines for at least three months after breaking a leg in a friendly against Go Ahead Eagles.
The former Dutch international collided with an opponent and the game was abandoned shortly after he was carried off because of fighting in the stands.
An Ajax website statement said: "He has broken the shin bone in his left leg."
In January, Davids, 34, returned to Ajax - where he began his career - following a spell at Tottenham.
