2133: Bayern Munich's draw with Inter Milan means they top Group B ahead of the Italians.

2132: GOAL Galatasaray 3-2 Liverpool
Robbie Fowler heads in his second of the night from Jermain Pennant's cross.

2131: GOAL Bayern Munich 1-1 Inter Milan
Patrick Vieira equalises at the death for Inter but they need a win to overtake Bayern at the top of Group B.

2131: GOAL Sporting 1-3 Spartak Moscow
Denis Boyarintsevwraps up victory for Spartak Moscow and that means they go into the Uefa Cup at the expense of Sporting.

2131: Chelsea keeper Hilario gets in on the action at Stamford Bridge as he makes a stunning fingertip save from Richard Eromoigbe.

2129: GOAL PSV 1-3 Bordeaux
Rodrigo Alex gets a consolation for PSV with three minutes remaining. The defeat means nothing though because PSV were already assured of second in Group C.

2126: Spanish defender Miki Roque is on for his Liverpool debut at the age of 18.

2123: GOAL Chelsea 2-0 Levski Sofia
Shaun Wright-Phillips arrows a right-foot shot into the bottom corner - his first goal for Chelsea in 52 appearances. Jose Mourinho looks on unmoved.

2120: GOAL Galatasaray 3-1 Liverpool
A triumphant fanfare plays out over the sound system in Istanbul as Sasa Ilic stretches the hosts' lead.

2118: Gabriel Paletta misses a crucial header for Liverpool, allowing Galatasaray's Uemit Karan to get a shot in but Paletta is grateful to see it go straight at keeper Jerzy Dudek.

2115: Werder Bremen playmaker Diego is too clever for his own good, backheeling the ball straight out of play. The Germans deserve at least a consolation goal for their second-half display.

2111: Didier Drogba is clattered by Levski Sofia keeper Bozhidar Mitrev. It looks like a penalty to everyone except referee Alain Hamer of Luxembourg. The Blues have made all their substitutions so Drogba must soldier on.

2110: Barca midfielder Andres Iniesta collapses in agony, prompting the referee to call for the motorised stretcher. It soon trundles off again though as Iniesta drags himself to his feet.

2107: Shaun Wright-Phillips gets a rare chance to shine for Chelsea as he comes on with Salomon Kalou. Arjen Robben and goalscorer Andriy Shevchenko come off.

2104: GOAL Bayern Munich 1-0 Inter Milan
Bayern Munich look certain to finish top of Group B now as Roy Makaay gives them the lead. Inter need to win to take top spot.

2102: Werder Bremen are getting closer and closer. Daniel Jensen hits the angle of post and bar with a cross, with keeper Victor Valdes beaten.

2058 Ronaldinho delivers a breathtaking pass for Eidur Gudjohnsen, who is a little casual with his finish allowing the keeper to collect easily.

2057: GOAL Olympiacos 1-1 Shakhtar Donetsk
Neri Alberto Castillo gets Olympiacos back on level terms.

2056: Miroslav Klose shows some lovely skill to work a shooting opportunity in the box but his shot goes wide. Both Carles Puyol and Thiago Motta have been booked for Barcelona in a bright opening spell for Werder Bremen.

2055: Erguen Penbe hits the post for Galatasaray against Liverpool.

2050: Michael Ballack volleys high and wide as Chelsea look to wrap up victory against Levski Sofia. Only 33,358 at Stamford Bridge tonight - that's well below capacity.

2046: All the games are under way again.

2033: It's half-time everywhere and as it stands, Chelsea will top Group A ahead of Barcelona, with Werder Bremen heading into the Uefa Cup. Bayern Munich will go through as winners of Group B with Inter Milan second and Spartak Moscow taking the Uefa Cup place. And in Group D, Roma will qualify in second behind Valencia.

2030: Galatasaray scorer Necati Ates hobbles off in Istanbul.

2027: Werder Bremen remind Barcelona they are not out of the woods yet as Miroslav Klose comes agonisingly close to tapping in Pierre Wome's cross.

2024: GOAL PSV 0-3 Bordeaux
Bordeaux take complete control in Eindhoven as former Nottingham Forest striker Jean Claude Darcheville adds his name to the scoresheet.

2020: It's exhibition stuff at the Nou Camp. Deco runs fully 60 yards before laying the ball off to Eidur Gudjohnsen, who tricks past three defenders before seeing his shot canon off the post. The rebound falls straight to Ludovic Giuly, but the Frenchman somehow misses the open goal.

2015: Cedric Bardon comes close to a shock equaliser for Levski Sofia against Chelsea but his sweetly-struck volley flies just over the bar.

2014: GOAL Sporting 1-2 Spartak Moscow
Perhaps there is hope for Sporting after all. Carlos Bueno pulls one back.

2013: GOAL Galatasaray 2-1 Liverpool
Liverpool half-clear a corner but it lands invitingly for Okan Buruk, who thumps it straight past keeper Jerzy Dudek. That's three goals in six minutes.

2012: GOAL PSV 0-2 Bordeaux
Stephane Dalmat puts Bordeaux in control in Holland.

2011: GOAL Chelsea 1-0 Levski Sofia
That's a lovely finish from Andriy Shevchenko, who steers the ball home with the outside of his right foot from Frank Lampard's cross.

2009: GOAL Galatasaray 1-1 Liverpool
A mistake from Xabi Alonso allows Necati Ates to steal in and equalise. Liverpool's lead lasted all of two minutes.

2006: GOAL Galatasaray 0-1 Liverpool
Craig Bellamy crosses for Robbie Fowler to give Liverpool the lead, thanks to some laughable Galatasaray defending. The ball comes off his thigh, but he won't care - that's his first goal in the Champions League proper.

2003: GOAL Sporting 0-2 Spartak Moscow
Sporting Lisbon won't even be playing in the Uefa Cup at this rate as Maxim Kalinichenko makes it 2-0.

2003: GOAL Barcelona 2-0 Werder Bremen
Eidur Gudjohnsen finishes a stunning move from the champions, who have banished any nerves inside 20 minutes. Ludovic Giuly unselfishly passes for the Icelandic striker to tap in.

2002: Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard pole-axes a Levski Sofia defender with a fierce shot.

1959: GOAL Roma 1-0 Valencia
A potentially crucial goal from Christian Panucci. Roma need at least a point to stay in the Champions League.

1957: GOAL Barcelona 1-0 Werder Bremen
Cometh the hour, cometh Ronaldinho. The Brazilian icon wins a free-kick and then simply threads it through the wall, to the delight of the Nou Camp.

1955: There is no doubt where all the action is taking place and that's at the Nou Camp. Ludovic Giuly sees his volley athletically stopped by keeper Tim Wiese.

1955: GOAL PSV 0-1 Bordeaux
In the only group where everything is decided, Julien Faubert gives third-placed Bordeaux the lead against second-placed PSV.

1954: GOAL Sporting 0-1 Spartak Moscow
Disaster for Sporting Lisbon. They need a draw to qualify for the Champions League but they go behind to Roman Pavluchenko's goal.

1953: Nervous moments for Barcelona but captain Carles Puyol comes to the rescue with a brilliant last-ditch tackle on Diego.

1948: Former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has an early chance for Barcelona but he wastes it.

1946: Chelsea winger Arjen Robben skips down the left and pulls the ball back for Andriy Shevchenko but the Ukrainian's shot is well saved by the Levski keeper.

1945: And we're under way.

1943: The inspirational Champions League anthem is ringing out across the grounds as the formalities take place. Not surprisingly, there's tension in the air at the Nou Camp.

1935: Valencia, who have already qualified top of Group D, field five players who have never started a Champions League game before. That should help opponents Roma, who need a point to be sure of second, but the Italians are without the injured Francesco Totti.

1930: Werder Bremen will be praying to avoid a repeat of last year. The Germans were eliminated when keeper Tim Wiese made the howler of all howlers in the 88th minute, dropping the ball at Juventus striker Emerson's feet to allow the Brazilian to score. That sent Juve through and Werder out.

1925: Ronaldinho and his Barcelona team-mates are warming up in front of an expectant Nou Camp crowd. Nothing short of victory will do for Barca, who will otherwise become the first champions in history to go out in the group stages.

All tonight's games kick off at 1945 GMT. Here are the permutations...

  • Group A: Chelsea must win to guarantee top spot. A draw would be enough if Werder Bremen do not win. Barcelona must beat Werder to qualify, otherwise the German side go through and Barca head into the Uefa Cup.

  • Group B: Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have qualified. Inter will finish top if they beat their Italian rivals, otherwise Bayern take top spot. Sporting Lisbon need a draw against Spartak Moscow to take the Uefa Cup place.

  • Group C: Placings are already decided.

  • Group D: Roma will join Valencia in the last 16 if their game finishes level. Shakhtar Donetsk can only qualify if they beat Olympiakos and Roma lose.

In Group A, Chelsea rest Ashley Cole and Claude Makelele while Carlo Cudicini is injured and John Terry suspended. Hilario is in goal, Khalid Boulahrouz and Wayne Bridge come into defence and Arjen Robben starts.

Ronaldinho returns for Barcelona's crucial game against Werder Bremen after being rested at the weekend and midfielder Rafael Marquez is back after injury.

Liverpool are assured of top spot in Group C so an unfamiliar line-up includes Lee Peltier, Danny Guthrie and Jerzy Dudek, as Robbie Fowler and Craig Bellamy lead the attack.
