Benitez relieved as Reds hold on
Rafael Benitez
Benitez's side top Group C after the win over Galatasaray
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez says Galatasaray had him "worried" as the Turkish side threatened to come back from 3-0 down to take a point.

"It was a very difficult game," said Benitez after his side clung on for a 3-2 Champions League Group C victory.

"We were under pressure because we couldn't score a fourth - they knew the game was over, so they decided to go forward all the time.

"I was worried at the end and that is why I brought on Momo Sissoko."

Benitez added: "I said to players the most important thing was three points.

"It was more difficult than we were expecting at the end but we have three points and are at the top of the group."

Despite Galatasaray's impressive performance after they had gone three goals behind their manager Eric Gerets believed Liverpool were worthy winners.

"We deserved to lose because our first half was too bad," said Gerets. "In the second half we woke up and played a wonderful 30 minutes but we couldn't get the third goal.

"The big difference between the teams is that in the Liverpool team everybody speaks but we don't communicate enough.

"We could solve so many problems if we could speak to each other more."
