2142: Werder Bremen give Juventus a real fright in Turin, but the Italian side progress to the next stage.

The game proves heartbreaking for the German side's goalkeeper Tim Wiese whose terrible blunder in the 88th minute gifts Emerson a goal.

Prior to that mistake Wiese had produced a string of superb saves to frustrate Juventus, who win on the away goals rule.

2140: Villarreal 1-1 Rangers Rangers slip out of the Champions League as they lose on the away goals rule to Villarreal.

Peter Lovenkrands' first-half goal had given Rangers' hope but Rodolfo Arruabarrena's goal early in the second half is enough to send the Spanish side through to the quarter-finals.

2138: FULL-TIME Barcelona 1-1 Chelsea Chelsea exit the Champions League as Barcelona reach the last eight of the competition.

Ronaldinho gave Barcelona the lead and although Frank Lampard's stoppage time penalty levels the scores in the Nou Camp, the Catalan side win 3-2 on aggregate.

2136: Barcelona 1-1 Chelsea Frank Lampard scores with a penalty in stoppage time for Chelsea after John Terry is fouled by Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

2134: Arjen Robben sets up a chance for Eidur Gudjohnsen, whose shot goes well over the bar.

2129: GOAL Juventus 2-1 Werder Bremen Having done so much to thwart Juventus during the preceding 87 minutes Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese gifts the Italian side their second goal.

He inexplicably lets go of the ball having gathered a cross and Brazilian Emerson is quick to pounce, shooting into the empty net.

Wiese's blunder means Juventus look set to go through on the away goals rule.

2128: Samuel Eto'o clips the post for Barcelona with just five minutes left in the Nou Camp.

2125: Villarreal goalkeeper Sebastian Viera saves bravely at the feet of Hamed Namouchi. The Uruguayan keeper needs extensive treatment to his left leg, which is now heavily bandaged.

2122: GOAL Barcelona 1-0 Chelsea
Chelsea are slipping out of the Champions League as Ronaldinho strikes for Barcelona.

The Brazilian's quick feet and strength - he barges aside John Terry - give him the space to crash a shot past Petr Cech.

2121: Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is quick to come out of his goal to clear the ball just before Hernan Crespo gets to it.

2120: Carles Puyol is yellow carded after the Barcelona captain tackles Eidur Gudjohnsen from behind.

2119: Chris Burke's cross causes problems for the Villarreal defence, but it is just too long for Kris Boyd.

2118: Diego Forlan misses badly for Villarreal when he is through on goal as he clips the ball well wide.

2115: Chances are few and are between in the game between Chelsea and Barcelona in the Nou Camp, where there is just 18 minutes to play.

2113: Werder Bremen goallkeeper Tim Wiese brilliantly pushes an Adrian Mutu free-kick round the post.

2110: Guillermo Franco twice goes close for Villarreal, his point-blank shot first drawing a good save from Ronald Waterreus and then placing a header straight at the Rangers goalkeeper.

David Trezeguet finally finds a way past the Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese as the French international striker crashes a shot into the net.

Juventus need to score another goal if they are to reach the last eight of the Champions League.

2107: Herrnan Crespo comes desperately close to scoring from a Joe Cole cross but his flick goes the wrong side of the post.

2104: Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese is almost single-handedly keeping Juventus at bay. His latest save sees him fling himself to his left to tip away a Pavel Nedved effort.

2103: Petr Cech makes his first real save of the game getting down quickly to push away Samuel Eto'o's fierce shot.

2101: Didier Drogba and Damien Duff are withdrawn to be replaced by Eidur Gudjohnsen and Hernan Crespo.

2050: GOAL Villarreal 1-1 Rangers Rangers make the worst possible start at the start of the second half as Villarreal pull level. Deigo Forlan squares the ball and Rodolfo Arruabarrena provides the finish at the far post.

Villarreal's goal means Rangers must score again if they are to reach the last eight.

2048: Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic breaks clear only to miscontrol the ball.

2035: Barcelona have had more of the possession against Chelsea, but it is the English side that have probably had the clearer chances.

But Jose Mourinho's side now have just 45 minutes to score two goals to take them through to the last eight of the Champions League.

2033: Juventus have their work cut out against Werder Bremen if they are to reach the quarter-finals with the Italian side needing to score two goals after Johan Micoud's first-half goal gives the German side a 4-2 aggregate lead.

1929: The Villarreal team bus has two windows smashed on its way to the stadium.

A group of Rangers fans surrounded the bus, rocking it from side to side, before police intervene.

Several thousand Rangers fans are expected to be locked out of the stadium, having arrived either without tickets or having bought forgeries.

Rangers received an allocation of 3,000 tickets, but several thousand more have bought tickets from Spanish fans.

1905: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is greeted by shrieking whistles and jeers at the Nou Camp.
