Italy international striker Antonio Cassano has completed a £3.8m transfer from Roma to Real Madrid.
Cassano has a reputation as a difficult character
The 23-year-old has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal and may make his debut against Villarreal on Sunday.
He is only the second Italian to sign for Real after defender Christian Panucci, who played for the club between 1997 and 1999.
Cassano's signing takes Real's spending since they won their last major trophy in June 2003 to more than £127m.
