Tuesday's game:

Result: AC Milan 2-0 PSV Eindhoven

Goalflashes and major incidents (all times BST):

2134: FULL-TIME AC Milan 2-0 PSV Eindhoven
The whistle goes and PSV can count themselves extremely unfortunate to have conceded a two-goal advantage going into next Wednesday's second leg at the Philips Stadium.

2132: GOAL AC Milan 2-0 PSV Eindhoven
Jon Dahl Tomasson
grabs a poacher's goal on the turn from six yards to break PSV hearts after Kaka's shot had deflected off Philip Cocu's boot.

2131: Mark van Bommel has another sight of goal outside the box but yet again the shot flies straight at Dida.

2127: Just as it looks like Milan are closing the game out Jan Venegoor of Hesselink has a golden chance to level, but under pressure from Paolo Maldini he can only head wide.

2122: Serginho comes on for the disappointing Clarence Seedorf.

2113: Andrea Pirlo is replaced by Massimo Ambrosini.

2108: Mark van Bommel races into the Milan box and fires a shot over the bar from an angle.

2106: AC Milan withdraw Hernan Crespo for Danish forward Jon-Dahl Tomasson.

2102: PSV take off Da Marcus Beasley for the exotically-named Jan Venegoor of Hesselink.

2059: Gomes comes to PSV's rescue again with yet another one-handed tip over after a sublime chip from the brilliantly inventive Andriy Shevchenko.

2056: PSV play some delightful football through Mark van Bommel and Jefferson Farfan and the ball falls to Ji-Sung Park 12 yards out, the Korean tamely shooting at Dida as another chance goes begging.

2052: PSV have started the second half well and Jaap Stam has to be at his best to block a shot from Da Marcus Beasley.

2031: The half-time whistle goes in the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.

2027: GOAL AC Milan 1-0 PSV Eindhoven
Andriy Shevchenko
races on to a pass from Kaka and draws Gomes before coolly slotting into the bottom corner from 10 yards to give the hosts a deserved lead.

2018: Gomes produces another sensational one-handed save to deny Kaka, the Brazilian playmaker letting fly from 20 yards as Milan continue to press.

2007: PSV's Ji-Sung Park tries an audacious lob from 35 yards that only just sails over Dida's crossbar.

1959: Mark van Bommel plays a fabulous pass ahead of Jefferson Farfan, but having created a shooting chance the striker can only fire straight at Dida.

1956: For the first time play switches to the Milan half and Farfan tests Dida from 20 yards with a fizzing drive.

1954: Gomes pulls off a brilliant one-handed tip over from a Hernan Crespo shot. From the resulting corner Jaap Stam blazes over from 10 yards.

1947: First real chance for Milan after two minutes of probing, Paolo Maldini flights a lovely pass into the path of Andriy Shevchenko but the Ukraine striker can only steer his shot at Gomes in the PSV goal.

1945: The first Champions League semi-final kick offs in the San Siro Stadium, Milan.

Team news:

AC Milan duo Jaap Stam and Andrea Pirlo pass fitness tests and start for the Italian side, while Hernan Crespo partners Andriy Shevchenko up front.

PSV Eindhoven pair Alex and Wilfred Bouma are both included after slight knocks, but striker Jan Venegoor of Hesselink has to settle for a place on the bench.
