Michael Owen insisted his future lies with Real Madrid after he received a standing ovation from the fans for his display in the 4-2 win over Barcelona.
Owen, who scored the fourth goal, said: "I'm very happy with my performance and it was a great feeling to get the goal.
"I'm very happy here and I have started easily more than half the games.
"The fans have taken to me and I have scored goals consistently. There's not many Englishmen that can say they've scored in this fixture."
Real's win cut Barcelona's lead in the La Liga to six points and Owen has now set his sights on winning a trophy in his first season at the Bernabeu.
"Six points is still a lot to make up but we will put pressure on Barca and try and do our best," said Owen.
"It would be nice to win the title in my first year here."
Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard said lack of concentration and poor finishing were responsible for his side's defeat.
"Their first two goals came far too easy," said the Dutchman.
"The difference between the two sides was that we struggled to convert our chances, while they found it very easy to score."
Real coach Wanderley Luxemburgo refused to get carried away by the win.
"The difference between us and them was that we took our chances," said the Brazilian.
"Barcelona still have the advantage and, in that respect, nothing has changed. If we are to win the league then we are still dependent on them."
