Iversen joins Valerenga
Steffen Iversen
Former Wolves striker Steffen Iversen has returned home to Norway to sign a three-month contract with Valerenga.

The 27-year-old Norwegian international was released by the Molineux club at the end of last season.

He has joined the club where his father Odd played as a striker in the 1970s, and the team is now coached by former Norway midfielder Kjetil Rekdal.

Iversen, who joined Wolves from Tottenham, said: "I am ready to play. I have always had my eye on Valerenga."

He moved to Tottenham from Rosenborg in December 1996 but injuries have blighted his time in England.

Iversen only made 14 starts last season and he has also struggled to hold down a place in the Norway team.

He added: "I hope this move can work as a helping hand to get me back into the national team.

"I am going back to Norway to have some security around my career again."
