Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez said his team could not afford to drop any more points after losing 1-0 away to Olympiakos in the Champions League.
The Greek side, who took an early lead, ended with 10 men but prevented Liverpool having a meaningful chance.
"When you lose like that it is always very disappointing. We gave away a lot of possession; we had plenty but did not keep it," he said.
"Every team has a chance of qualifying so the home games are important now."
Liverpool's next two games are back-to-back matches against Deportivo la Coruna, who are currently bottom of Group A.
Benitez admitted the result in Greece meant these games were now even more important but felt it was not a fair reflection of the match.
"Until Olympiakos scored they had not created anything, but after their goal the game changed. They were confident and had more opportunities," he said.
"The goal was unfortunate. The cross clipped a player and changed direction, making it very difficult for Sami Hyypia to clear."
