Michael Owen has been left on the bench, fuelling speculation Liverpool are prepared to sell the England international.

If he plays in the game Owen would be cup-tied in Europe, diminishing his market value.

In Owen's absence, Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez partnered Milan Baros and Djibril Cisse in attack.
