Ravanelli joins Perugia
Fabrizio Ravanelli
Ravanelli started his career at Perugia
Former Middlesbrough striker Fabrizio Ravanelli has signed for Italian side Perugia until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old had started the season with Dundee before his contract was terminated when they went into administration in November.

"I have signed a six-month contract this morning and I am very happy to return to play," said Ravanelli.

The ex-Italian international began his career at Perugia in the 1985-6 season when they were in the fourth division.

The Serie A side have yet to win a game this season and have won just nine points in 16 league matches.

But Ravanelli added: "I am delighted to return to my home town and to play for my first club.

"If things go well and we remain in Serie A this season then there is a possibility that I could continue playing for Perugia in the next campaign."

He could make his debut in Sunday's league match against fellow relegation strugglers Ancona.
