Batistuta joins Inter
Gabriel Batistuta
Batistuta has scored just four goals this season
Argentine striker Gabriel Batistuta has joined Inter Milan on loan until the end of the season.

Inter swooped for Batistuta after Hernan Crespo was ruled out for three months with a thigh muscle injury.

Batistuta will link up with Argentine coach Hector Cuper and five other Argentine players at the San Siro, as well as strikers Christian Vieri and Uruguayan Alvaro Recoba.

The Milan club will pay Batistuta half of the 3.7m salary he receives from Roma.

Batistuta's contract with Roma was due to end in June.

The 34-year-old striker helped Roma win the Serie A title in the 2000/2001 season.

He joined them in 2000 following nine seasons with Fiorentina, but has scored just four goals this season.

Batistuta will be ineligible to play for Inter in the Champions League having already played for Roma in this season's competition.
