Real Madrid brought the curtain down on their centenary celebrations with 3-3 draw against a World XI at the Bernabeu stadium.
Real fielded superstars Raul, Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and Figo, but Roberto Carlos was out through injury. The World XI side was coached by Brazil's World Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and included Rivaldo, Michael Ballack, Paolo Maldini and Roberto Baggio. The visitors took a three-goal lead through German Miroslav Klose, Brazil's Kaka and Birmingham's Senegalese star Aliou Cisse.
But Real Madrid, captained by Steve McManaman for part of the match, drew level with goals from Santiago Solari, Tote and Esteban Cambiasso. "It was an unforgettable day of football with plenty of goals for the fans and was a great spectacle for everyone involved," said Real coach Vicente del Bosque.
