Trapattoni job on the line
Trapattoni's jop is under threat following Italy's poor start to their Euro 2004 campaign, underlined by 2-1 defeat by Wales. Italian Football Association (FIGC) president Franco Carraro confirmed the governing body will meet in the first week of November to discuss Trapattoni's future.
Carraro said: "We will make a decision regarding the manager in the first week of November. "It is a delicate situation for the national team and we are obliged to look at it closely." Italy have won just two of their last ten matches, and suffered a controversial second round exit from the World Cup at the hands of hosts South Korea.
Trapattoni's success at Inter, AC Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich made him the logical choice to replace Dino Zoff in September 2000. But in his 25 matches in charge, 'Trap' has presided over 13 wins, six draws and six defeats.
