Ahn dispute nears end
Ahn Jung-Hwan's golden goal against Italy started the feud with Perugia
Ahn's winner against Italy started his feud with Perugia
Perugia have sought to end their dispute with Korean striker Ahn Jung-Hwan by agreeing to sell him to the club of his choice by the end of the month.

Perugia president Luciano Gaucci threatened to sack Ahn after the striker scored the golden goal which knocked Italy out of the World Cup.

And Ahn responded by refusing to turn up for pre-season training.

The Italian club had paid Korean club Busan 1m to complete the signing of Ahn, who had joined Perugia on a co-ownership basis last year.

However, Perugia have now reached a tentative agreement with the player's representatives and officials of Busan which should allow Ahn to find another club.

But the Italian club have said that if a deal is not reached by 31 August, the case will be handed to arbitrators at world governing body Fifa.

"The final agreement has not been reached yet," Perugia said in a statement.

"But the parties involved decided that Ahn's possible transfer by the end of August must be agreed by the player and the club Busan.

"The principle that Perugia is the sole owner of the player has been also accepted."
