Hedman 'to join Espanyol'
Hedman endured relegation with Coventry
Coventry's Swedish international goalkeeper Magnus Hedman claims to have agreed terms on a move to Spanish club Espanyol.
Hedman, who played in all of Sweden's four matches at the World Cup, joined Coventry in 1997 and established himself as an accomplished Premiership keeper. But he suffered relegation to Division One with the Sky Blues at the end of the 2000/01 season. After Coventry failed to secure an immediate return to the top flight, the 29-year-old is seeking a move away from Highfield Road. Hedman claims he will join the Barcelona side if the two clubs can agree on a fee. "Now it's up to the two clubs to decide terms, but I am sure Coventry are willing to sell me now, because next year I will go free," Hedman told Swedish newspaper Expressen.
