Ajax turn to Koeman
Ronald Koeman is Ajax's new coach
Ajax will hope Koeman can bring back glory days
Ajax have appointed former player Ronald Koeman to replace Co Adriaanse, who was sacked as the club's coach on Thursday.

Koeman, who was in charge at rivals Vitesse Arnhem, has been brought in to try to return Ajax to the summit of the Dutch league.

"I have the same feeling as when I went to Ajax as a 20-year-old," said Koeman.

The club have also named another former Ajax star, Ruud Krol, as Koeman's assistant.

Krol was assistant to Dutch national team coach Louis van Gaal, who stepped down on Friday.

The new managerial duo will make their debut in Ajax's home game against Fortuna Sittard on Tuesday.

Ajax are second in the Dutch first division and could take the lead from Feyenoord with a victory over bottom side Fortuna.
