Goran's Split loyalties
Goran Ivanisevic
Ivanisevic is a passionate Hajduk Split fan
Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic is set to fulfil a lifelong ambition after being offered the chance to play for Hajduk Split.

The Croatian club have offered the football-mad 29-year-old a short-term contract.

And he could make his debut in the Champions League qualifier against Hungarian side Ferencvaros next Saturday or against bitter rivals Dinamo Zagreb.

Three minutes would satisfy me
Goran Ivanisevic on playing for Hajduk Split
"I had two dreams in my life. One was to win Wimbledon. The other was to play once for Hajduk Split," said Ivanisevic.

"The game against Ferencvaros is important for the club and it depends on the result whether I can play or not.

"I would like to play in the Croatian league. The derby at home to Dinamo seems nice. Three minutes would satisfy me."

Hadjuk coach Nenad Gracan has been left in no doubt as to the quality of Ivanisevic as a footballer.

He said: "His ability is close to professional level. I've asked him to come to training and promised to put him in the team against Dinamo."
