Nedved completes Juve move

Nedved: Juventus can win the Champions League
Czech international Pavel Nedved has switched from Lazio to Juventus in a 25m deal.

"He has had the medical and has signed," said a Juventus spokeswoman.

Nedved was a key part of the Rome side's title-winning side in 2000 and is widely considered the top left-sided midfielder in Serie A.

He joined Lazio from Sparta Prague in the summer of 1996.

He also played in the Czech side that reached the final of Euro 96, losing to Germany, and represented his country at Euro 2000.

But he said he had felt unsettled by the many rumours linking him with a move from Lazio and thought the club's faith in him had faded.

Heavy spending

"I have chosen Juventus because with them I can win everything," Nedved told the Rome broadcasting station Radio Radio recently.

"With the team that is being assembled I think we can win everything, even the Champions League," he said.

Juventus, who have spent heavily to bring in Parma pair Gianluigi Buffon and Lilian Thuram, have lost French international star Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid.
