Aragones bound for Atletico Madrid
Luis Aragones
Aragones (right) says the deal is all but sealed
Luis Aragones is set to leave as coach of Real Mallorca and take up a fifth spell in charge at Atletico Madrid next season.

Aragones stated last month that he would be leaving Mallorca at the end of the present campaign.

Mallorca are already guaranteed at least a place in next season's Champions League qualifiers.

Atletico are pushing for promotion back into the Spanish First Division and Aragones, 62, said the deal had been all but sealed.

"Am I going to Atletico Madrid?" he said. "Almost certainly, yes, but I don't have anything signed yet."

Atletico are one of three clubs, along with Real Betis and Tenerife, battling for two promotion places which will be decided in the final weekend of league matches this Sunday.

Aragones was in charge at Atletico from 1974 to 1978, 1979 to 1980, 1982 to 1986 and 1991 to 1993.
