Teenage midfielder Marko Marin was left out of the final 23-man squad
Teenage midfielder Marko Marin has been dropped from Germany's final 23-man squad for Euro 2008 despite making his debut in Tuesday's draw with Belarus.
Germany let a 2-0 lead slip away in their penultimate friendly before the finals, drawing 2-2 in Kaiserslautern.
David Odonkor, who set up Miroslav Klose for Germany's opening goal, did make coach Joachim Loew's final cut.
But fellow midfielder Jermaine Jones and striker Patrick Helmes were left out when the squad was reduced from 23.
Marin, 19, who helped Borussia Moenchengladbach win promotion from the second division last season, was a surprise inclusion in the initial squad but was expected to go to Austria and Switzerland after impressing Loew in training.
Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack and Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann both made the squad.
It includes 15 members of the 2006 World Cup group, including Torsten Frings and Christoph Metzelder, despite concerns over their fitness.
"We have been preparing for two years for this tournament," said Low, who took over from Jurgen Klinsmann after the 2006 World Cup.
"The tension and the concentration are rising within me, but I am really looking forward to it. We are well prepared and I'm eager for the championship to start."
The German team flew back to their training camp in Mallorca after the Belarus game.
Their final warm-up match is against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday.
