Domenech's side reached the World Cup final two years ago
France coach Raymond Domenech will have his future decided on 3 July after his side's Euro 2008 exit.
The French lost 2-0 to Italy and 4-1 to Holland to finish bottom of Group C, with their sole point coming from their opening 0-0 draw with Romania.
Domenech will meet with French football federation (FFF) president Jean-Pierre Escalettes and technical director Gerard Houllier next month.
Despite growing media pressure, Domenech has stated he will not resign.
"I am not asking myself that question, as it is a political problem," said the 56-year-old on his future.
"This team has a future, it has a real plan, there are young players coming through, there is something really interesting to do."
The FFF has stated that it will look at the work done by Domenech over his time in charge before making a decision.
"It is necessary to take time to analyse the reasons and the consequences of France's early elimination and to sum up the work done (by Domenech) over the past four years," said the FFF in a statement.
Domenech led France to the 2006 World Cup final where they lost to Italy on penalties.
But his team drew with Romania and were defeated by both Netherlands and Italy on their way out of Euro 2008 to raise doubts about his continuing in his role.
"It is a political problem and I have never dabbled in anything other than sporting matters," he added.
Domenech, who proposed to his girlfriend on television when interviewed after the match, saw his side have Eric Abidal red-carded for a professional foul on Luca Toni.
Andrea Pirlo converted the resultant spot-kick before Daniele de Rossi's free-kick was diverted into his own net by striker Thierry Henry.
Star midfielder Franck Ribery had also been forced off injured with the score at 0-0.
"In one match it's impossible to have so many catastrophes on a pitch," said Domenech. "You'd think it's impossible.

"We think Franck has a sprained knee but we don't know for sure. He's been to the hospital but we have no news yet."
Henry was in the wall when he got the vital touch which deflected De Rossi's free-kick past wrong-footed keeper Gregory Coupet and he echoed his manager's stance.
"Nothing went our way," said the Barcelona forward.
"Franck gets injured, we concede the goal and are shown a red card. Everything went against us. We tried to fight until the end but luck was just not on our side."
